FANZINAT – Passion and history of fanzines in France.
A film directed by Laure Bessi, Guillaume Gwardeath and Jean-Philippe Putaud-Michalski.
About the film:
Fanzines are handcrafted publications, tirelessly pursued against all odds by passionate fans of niche or even underground cultures. They undoubtedly constitute a unique—yet often overlooked—form of journalism and publishing. The film tells the story of fanzines in France by meeting the people who shaped them and continue to shape them. Science fiction, comics, punk and rap music movements, graphic design, sports, tattoos, social issues… The range of causes and themes embraced by fanzine activists seems limitless. A lesson in passion.
