Theme for April and May 2025: Anti-speciesism
Sentience, veganism, direct action, utilitarianism, welfarism... what are the concepts and practices surrounding antispeciesism, and what historical frameworks do they fit into? What currents exist and have existed among animal liberation activists, in France and elsewhere?
And whether in the field of struggles or in the theoretical domain, what are the links between the anti-speciesist movement and anti-racism, feminism, anti-ableism, anti-capitalism, ecology and peasant movements?
And of course we will talk about the other beings who inhabit this earth with us and whom we hastily classify as "animals": who are they, what are their lives like? What forms do our relationships with them take, in particular our relationships of domination, and what new forms can we invent together?
