In a feeling where desire, apprehension, haste and questions are intertwined, the Serious Road Trip – Besançon team flies to meet the Palestinians and more precisely the members of the Al Bustan social association in the Silwan neighborhood in East Jerusalem.
The program included an introduction to circus techniques for local children, pedagogical and technical training for future trainers. This team of young adults also created a show to perform on several occasions in Jerusalem and in cities and refugee camps in the West Bank. The circus, as a means of meeting and communicating, allowed the five members of Serious to discover the reality of Palestinians on the ground. A troubling situation, which, through the hardships observed and experienced... and the great bursts of laughter, brought to light incomprehension but also a great deal of admiration for the strength of the Palestinian people.
